The Reaper: Master of All Weapons

Threat Level: đź”´ DANGEROUS

A legendary warrior equally skilled with melee, ranged, and shields. The Reaper’s 50% slash reduction and 25% ranged reduction make traditional approaches inefficient. What makes him truly dangerous is his combination of masterful technique (Battle Axe Focus III = 1.3x damage, +30 AP) and defensive mastery (Disarming Bash + Perfect Block). He is essentially a perfectly balanced fighter who excels at all ranges and has counters to most strategies.

The Defining Threat

50% Slash Reduction (Melee Tier 1): Two-handed weapons deal only half their listed damage. A 100-damage axe becomes 50 effective damage. Combined with his high armor rating (229 base + perks), melee damage is heavily mitigated.

25% Ranged Reduction (Arrows Tier 2): Bows deal 75% of normal damage. With his high resistances (80% frost, poison immunity), ranged damage is also reduced compared to other encounters.

Battle Axe Mastery (1.3x damage, +30 armor penetration): His weapon damage is multiplied by 1.3 and he has +30 AP, making his attacks very accurate against your armor. His effective DPS is 54-60/s (102 base Ă— 1.3 Ă— (1 - your resistances)).

Disarming Bash (25% disarm chance with shield): Random chance to disarm your weapon each block he performs. A disarmed player loses DPS entirely and must retrieve the weapon. Disarmed during dangerous moments = death.

Defensive Stance (No slow from blocking): He can block your attacks without movement penalty. He stays mobile while maintaining defensive positioning—cannot be cornered.

Counter Strategies

  1. Pierce-Focused Build (Tier 2 Resistance Only):
    • Pierce weapons (daggers, spears) have only 20% reduction vs 50% for slashing
    • Dual dagger fast attacks bypass his defense through attack speed
    • Daggers deal lower per-hit damage but hit 3-4x faster = higher total DPS
    • Recommended: Dual daggers with elemental enchantments
    • Risk: Requires staying in melee range where he’s most dangerous
  2. Frost/Elemental Damage (Mixed Type):
    • His 80% frost resistance is high but not complete immunity
    • Combining frost with physical damage improves total DPS
    • Frost also applies 35% slow + stagger (reduces his mobility)
    • Elemental damage bypasses armor reduction mechanics partially
    • Use frost-enchanted pierce weapons (frost dagger) rather than frost on slashing weapons
  3. Unarmed Mastery Build (No Disarm Vulnerability):
    • Unarmed cannot be disarmed (you have no weapon to disarm)
    • Unarmed damage is normally 8 base, but with perks (Martial Arts, Fists of Steel) reaches 30-40
    • Requires extremely heavy investment (Unarmed 100, multiple perks)
    • Allows you to focus pure melee engagement without disarm fear
    • Viable but builds have opportunity cost
  4. Attrition + Ranged Kiting:
    • Maintain 40+ feet distance; he can close but takes time
    • Ranged reduction is 25%, meaning you deal 75% of bow damage
    • Target his summons (he summons summons) rather than him directly
    • Use ranged attacks to maintain resource advantage
    • He cannot disarm ranged weapons; this is safest strategy
    • Risk: Extremely long fights (10+ minutes typical)
  5. Pure Stamina Drain (Specialized):
    • His stamina is 2245 but finite; exhausting it prevents power attacks
    • Power attack cost reduction (-50% from Barbaric Might) means he still has very low stamina drain
    • This is NOT a recommended strategy; better alternatives exist
    • Only viable if combined with other strategies (stamina drain + ranged kiting)

Critical Mechanics

  • 50% Slash Reduction (Tier 1 weapon protection): Two-handed axes deal half damage; slashing weapons are inefficient
  • 25% Ranged Reduction (Tier 2 weapon protection): Arrows deal 75% damage; not the worst but limited
  • 20% Pierce Reduction (Tier 3 weapon protection, implicit): Daggers deal 80% damage; best melee option
  • Battle Axe Focus III (1.3x damage, +30 armor penetration): His attack damage is amplified and ignores some armor
  • Disarming Bash (25% chance with shield): Random disarm creates threat; forces retrieval mechanic
  • 80% Frost Resistance: Cold-based builds are heavily resisted
  • 100% Poison Immunity: Poison strategies are completely useless
  • Paralysis Immunity: Cannot be frozen mid-action
  • Sneak Attack Immunity: Stealth assassination is impossible
  • 100% Skill (All Martial Skills): He has maximum skill in One-Handed, Two-Handed, Marksman, Block, Light/Heavy Armor
